An experimental sci-fi scene created with a focus on the atmosphere of a secluded outpost amidst sand dunes. The main emphasis was on composition and conveying a sense of isolation, emptiness, and vastness.
At the early stage, I used Midjourney to generate atmospheric references — this helped set the mood, palette, and overall direction of the visual language. The scene was assembled in Unreal Engine 5.5 with heavy use of Lumen for realistic global illumination and reflections. For creating the landscape and detailing the sandy surfaces, Nanite and Nanite Displacement were applied — this allowed for rich micro-detailing while maintaining high performance.
The color grading of the final render was done in DaVinci Resolve — I wanted to enhance the light accents, emphasize the dust, and highlight the depth of the air.
